The 2021 Cherry Blossom Season is upon us!
The peek bloom prediction is currently the first week of April. I have my permits submitted for Tidal Basin but the National Parks Service has yet to announce whether they’ll be closing the area due to COVID-19. I will do everything I can to make the Tidal Basin sessions happen but if NPS opts to close the area, I will provide an alternate location option.
All sessions are 20 minutes long and include your choice of 7 retouched images on a downloadable link with a print release. Additional images are available for purchase. I do not require a deposit in advance but full payment is due at the time of the session. All sessions subject to VA sales tax. Once you select your time slot, you will receive a contract within 48 hours. Please complete it in order to finalize your booking otherwise your time slot will be opened up to others.
These are extremely popular sessions and will most likely sell out but fear not if you’re unable to secure a spot. DC weather is very unpredictable so if the bloom arrives earlier or last longer, I will be adding additional time slots. Like/follow me on Facebook for updates. Tidal Basin - $350
Tidal Basin is the quintessential DC Cherry Blossom experience. During peak bloom, it is truly magical. But do be aware that crowds and parking can be challenging with these sessions. That’s why I only offer them in the early mornings and even then, crowds get crazy very quickly. Also please note that the Jefferson Monument is currently still under renovation so Tidal Basin sessions will feature the Washington Monument and the area along the water but NOT the Jefferson.
Old Town Alexandria - $275
I have a secret spot in Old Town that’s quiet and private with easy parking. It makes a wonderful alternative to anyone who wants to capture the magic of the bloom without braving the crowds. It also has more flexibility for time of day so afternoon sessions are possible.
Fort McNair - $275
This is a new location for me this year but I think it will be a fantastic alternative to Tidal Basin for my military clients. You’ll have to use a little imagination for my scouting photos but the trees along the waterfront will be absolutely beautiful during the bloom.
